I took a beginners’ pottery class in Yellowknife, NWT in the early 70’s, and realized that I really enjoyed working with clay. However, at that time I had just started studying to become a Certified General Accountant, so I decided that pottery was something that I would get back to in due time.
Due time came 25 years later, when I retired from the accounting world and took another pottery course. I started out with wheel work for the first six years, and in the last two have started doing some hand-building.
I have a small studio at my home, with a wheel, an extruder, a very large rolling pin and an electric kiln. I mix my own glazes from recipes which are tested and certified food-safe.
I hope that the people who acquire my pieces enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
